Not sure if this can be discussed here but:

Something I always wondered about, why is it that Black Cherry Burst costs more than the other bursts when they are all .. well.. bursts? I have no knowledge about wood finishing so I am of the mind that a burst is a burst is a burst. I guess my question also extends to the white finish. Why does that cost more than the other colors?

Someone burst my bubble please and enlighten me.

Yeah whites a standard finish, where are you getting your prices from, I'm gonna guess not from Jack.

Generally it would cost more to paint a burst because you have to spray the same guitar twice and be twice as careful the 2nd time. Bursts would therefore be more time consuming, and I believe the vintage burst has 3 colors, yellow - red - black, which is almost like going to 11, and therefore has a slightly higher price than the others.

That's my guess :)

The only 2 Bursts with no upcharge are the Pearl Redburst on John Petrucci's guitar and the Morse Blueburst on Steve Morse's guitar - both signature colors on Artist instruments, and therefore a bit more to begin with.

Oh, the upcharge is for the matching headstock.

Not if you were getting a Bongo. (nudge-nudge, ;)-;))

of course you can't get a new Bongo in white anyways. :(

Is there any reason that the Bongo doesn't have a maple fretboard option??
