Anyone down there go? I've never seen him live, but I hear he puts on one heck of a show.

I didn't make it to coachella fest this year ... I could hear it from my house though. I heard Prince played late into the night ... blew off the whole noise ordinance rule ..

Prince is great live. My wife dragged me to see him a few years back and I ended up loving it. Any guy that plays most of "Eruption" on an acoustic guitar is ok with me.

P.S. He is completely nuts in real life though.

I saw him probably 20 years ago in Birmingham Alabama, where I grew up. That's in the "Bible Belt", of course, so there were folks standing outside the venue handing out pamphlets entitled "Heaven or Hell", warning that my soul would burn in an eternal lake of fire if I decided to ignore their warning and go ahead to that concert ... lol.

Anyway, hell yeah, great performer, great musician. The guy can shred on a guitar and slap a bass like nobody's business (check out the bassline on "Let's Work", played by Prince).

I like the requirement he has at his label too, that every artist on his label MUST retain ownership of their master recordings.

Peace!

I've seen Prince on every tour since "1999" back in '82. The man can work an audience like no other, and what a catalog he has to choose from. And yes, the bands are always bad-ass. Michael Bland was my favorite Prince drummer, from the 92-97 era. He is a BAD man.
