Prob. with my ball :(

Hey guys,

maybe you guys could help me out.
I´ve got a problem with my ball.
The Tremolo won´t stay in tune rightly.

When I tune the Guitar ( Luke II ) and then push the tremolo the hole tuning chance into a higher tuning, when I pull it, the tuning is mostly right again.

So where is the Problem here? Tremolo is installerd with 2 springs and is adjusted to around 3-4mm high.

also check your gauge, the nut for the Luke is set for 9-42 if you increase the gauge you may find some problem

Hello!

Are you wrapping the strings around the locking tuners?
Maybe you have some worn nut slots! try to lube a little!

lube the knife edges and bridge studs too

Like has been said did you change strings properly, or gauge size, I sent you a few packs of super slinkys because that is the right gauge, have you made any adjustments you did not mention? Maybe try some nut sauce, lets us know, I am in no way an expert but maybe a few more formites with more knowledge can chime in and help, I have not experienced this problem before.

i had this problem w/ my luke...i went to 10s and i didnt realize it was setup for 9s...it was hanging up in the nut

I had the problem before I even changed the strings....
The shop changed them for me and made the intonation right, but same as before the tremolo isnt working right.... maybe I try to lube it a little.

Strings are the right size...

some explanation, with push I mean that the strings will sound deeper and with pull lighter.... so when I pull it, the strings are tuned higher, when I push it the setup is again correct...

The luke neck for me was the hardest to get used to - I'm only just now getting into my dargie, it's been a while, and I'd left it in the case, but once you get into it you know it's an amazing guitar,

Well, I dont know where the problem is, so what pictures should I make?
Somtimes, when I push the trem a little , theres a little "knack", as if there where some glue into it that broke.....

I dont think you can get diagnosed by a doctor on line and the same for a guitar....please visit a good tech...the store you went to may not be the right one

florian dont get upset but it isnt rocket science it is an adjustment that the guys who re strung your guitar should have been able to fix really easily.

I never wrap string around the post on my Luke... does this make a difference..?? I just pulled the string as far as I could then locked it up... I thought that was the correct way to do it...

....were the new strings even streched correctly?......two springs? Man I have never used fewer than 3.
Every so often the springs themselves can cause this problem if you can swap them out for a different pair or three of springs. These are easy things you can try at home before heading to the shop.
