problem in musicman(petrucci)

I have a John Petrucci Signature Mystic Dream (+piezo). While adjusting the volume - up and down- I get a rustling (noise) sound. Also it happens on the tremolo arm. How can I solve this problem?

Scalloped, does the noise in the pot sound like a crackling sound? If so, try spraying some of this in there: RadioShack.com - Cables, Parts & Connectors: Chemicals, tape & adhesives: Cleaners & wipes: Precision Electronics Cleaner

Regarding the tremolo arm, a little oil, such as 3-in-1 oil WD40 10035 3oz 3-in-1 oil (can) WD40 Tool Accessories | Toolup.com should get rid of the sqeak.

Rustling?

Is it a "scratchy" noise, like a bad pot? Or does it sound like a grounding issue, like random noise when you touch the strings, bridge, pot or anything metal?

how can i take off these voice knobs from the guitar..can somebody explain?

There is a set screw under the rubber band that goes around the knob. Remove the band and simply loosen the set screw.

Slide the rubber ring DOWN to access the set screw, otherwise it is easy to break or overstretch the band if you try and take it off the top of the knob.
