So last night I took back a guitar I bought in December to my local Guitar Center. I was looking around to see if I could find something that better fit my playing/sound and noticed they had their Ernie Ball guitars on sale. They've had this grey base model there for about a year, and I've played it many times, so I bought it at a good clearance price:

But when I got it home late last night I felt a ridge in the middle of the neck running from the 12th to 7th frets. In the picture below you can see it. The two straight "lines" are actually the outer edges of it. The middle is raised and is only visible because it is cleaner.

I had a Pearl Red JP back when they first came out, but I don't remember it having a ridge in the back of the neck...
