Hi, I am contacting you for help as I have a problem with the piezo pickup on my JP6 2015 BFR guitar. While playing something starts to disturb the signal, periodically popping, crackling , like when you break a cable.. This problem is only in the combined mono/piezo input. In the input for magnetic pickups this problem is not there at all, so it's only in the combined piezo/magnet input. I bought the guitar second hand so I can't return it but it was fine when I tried it. :/ I've uploaded a video of it, here's the link:

Does it crackle when moving the trem bar, like when doing a vibrato? I’ve had that happen. Piezo and/or cabling inside needs to be replaced. Sounds like you may have a similar issue (vibration induced crackling caused by a bad connection or defective piezo).

I’m not sure what exactly was wrong in my case as EBMM repaired it under warranty. They stated they replaced the piezo but I don’t know what the exact problem was.

No, it's more like the mono/piezo input is too sensitive to different signals ... and doesn't do it all the time. Sometimes nothing crackles for 20 minutes and then it starts, sometimes after a few minutes. They are random cycles .. It even picks up a very loud signal from a cell phone if when it is a meter away from the guitar ... I'm afraid to take the guitar to a gig

I saw your video in another thread and yeah, that is different than what mine had. Yours sounds more electronic/digital sounding as opposed to analogue (like a loose wire or bad connection) like what I had.

Very strange. I think the best thing in this case is to contact Music Man support- link is in my signature.

Just to confirm- have you tried replacing the batteries?

Another random thought.. which you may have already tried. Does the problem occur outside your home? Could be some sort of strange interference with an emitter near where you play it. I’ve had weird buzzes come through the mag pick-ups when certain fluorescent bulbs or computer monitors are around. If possible, take the guitar somewhere else entirely and see if you have the issue? Maybe make sure your phone is not around either
