There seems to be some nasty sh*t going on in Old London Town this morning.

8 confirmed dead from a bomb blast on a bus and bombs going off all over the underground system.

All London/UK forum members, take care of yourselves.

Could be a long walk home tonight from Canary Wharf!

YEP I work as a journo - meant to post earlier but I have been a little on the busy side.

Take care in the capital - and those forum members up in Edinburgh and Stirling.

Really nasty. I rarely go into London these days, just the occasional meeting, and I can walk to that from the main train station. Often thought that the undergound was a really soft terrorist target. Like many of you I've been watching things on TV. The emergency sevices have been brilliant. Things will not be the same again.

Yeah, there's some weird stuff going on, and I don't like to say it, but the dead count could be totally wrong, I think (unfortunately) that there are much more casualties.
I feel some bad stuff coming up.
Anyway, good luck for all of the people over there

Well, I'm afraid you're right Dees, the death toll is around the 40 mark. I know it's a strange thing to say, but knowing the complexity of our tube nextwork, it really could have been worse. Our emergency services (some of who I also know) have done us proud today.

I stopped working in the City 4 months ago and I now very well the area that this all happened in, weird seeing it on TV in such circumstances.

Glad to say I've ben in touch with friends, colleagues & ex-colleagues & they are all safe & well. My friends brother was on one of the bombed trains & he's OK too.

Don't let this put anyone off visiting our wonderful capital, that's what these bastards want.

Have come back from reporting in the centre of London and I have to say that our emergency services are some of the finest and most professional in the world. Bless all of them for what they do.

Unlike I have to add some hotel owners who had tripled their prices.

Any how apart from that. Keep coming to our fine country and capital. It is a wonderful place and we will not be bowed by this. Heck the IRA never managed it.

My condolences and prayers go to the families affected.

Your cops do a great job considering they're made to wear funny hats and don't carry guns.

I saw quite a few of them with guns yesterday. I was at the airport when Tony Blair flew back to London.

Yep they are all a pretty tough bunch our boys and girls in blue. They can have an armed back up when they need it.

Oh ps the funny hats are slowly being phased out - apart from ceremonial duties. If you are ever in the captial never ask a copper if his head goes all the way to the top of his hat. :)

Joking aside they ,and the rest of the emergency crews, are just the best.

Gosh! Yesterday after two months early in the morning I was ready to go to Aldgate but sat home to take care of my laundry! The washing machine saved me life!!

Awful news indeed but today it is business as usual.

I also received my new plugins for ProTools so I had sth to keep me occupied. Before I get a new pickguard I cannot play on my Sterling!!
