Problems with Axis...

Yesterday I was playing my gold axis and noticed a hissing, crackling, popping sound. I switched cables, same thing, switched guitars, nothing. I think I've isolated it down to the guitar.

When I hit a string, the sound is OK, but is is ACCOMPANIED with this scratching sound.

What could this be? Bad wiring/soldering?

Yes it could be. Or it could be a dirty jack.

i would remove the control cavity cover and check out the wiring. on a axis there isn't too much wiring involved so a problem will be easy to see. because its crackling i'm sure its a bad connection on your output jack. if it was a ground problem you'd be getting constant hum etc.. give 'er a look.
