I have had my EB Axis for about 4 months now and I seem to have a consistant problem with my neck. It is continually getting (I don't know the technical term) "bowed" to where I have to take it to the store to get the truss rod adjusted. This has happened more than 5 times now and the tech at the store told me figured necks are very had to keep square. Does anyone have the same problem, and if you do, what do you do to keep it in line? This problem also raises and sometimes lowers my strings to it being unplayable. I do not have this problem with any of my other guitars including my EB Petrucci. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This "problem" is common with unfinished maple necks. I really don't consider it a problem, as much as a condition of ownership of a guitar with an unfinished maple neck. Don't be afraid to adjust the neck yourself, it will save you a lot of money in the long run.

This subject has been covered in great detail in earlier posts:"Frequent Axis neck adjustments" and, "Truss rod adjustment on Axis". Check them out. Pretty much all the information you need is in there.

If you have any questions after reading those posts, let me know.

Thanks for the info. I will also check out the peavey.com site for more info. I obviously did not look at other posts about this problem. Hopefully I can get my guitar back to it's playing order. Thanks again!!

Koogie, I am having the same problem with mine. I submitted a post describing the same problem about a couple of month ago. I am getting to the point now where I can adjust the neck in no time. It is pretty easy to do, once you know what to do.
Hey EB a owners manual would come in real handy!

I will echo the comments of others. A birds eye neck is less stable in my opinion, especially if unfinished. I have a Hamer Daytona with a birdseye neck and it is the most tempermental of all my guitars. It is finished to boot. It seems they react more severely to humidity changes. Like you mentioned, you will just need to keep tweaking it. My petrucci's seem to be OK.

Hey everybody...thanks for your help. I have been doing the adjustments myself now (thanks to all of the available info and e-mails:D ). I never adjusted the neck on any of my guitars so I was a little nervous, but now I think I can get it done without the store's help. Thanks again.
