Does anyone know approximately how long it takes for a musicman bass to be built, from start to finish? I was just interested and i have never seen it anywhere.
Cheers

If we were to concentrate on one instrument we could build one in a couple of weeks. Of course we do not build them one at a time, we build several at a time, which then takes longer because you are dealing with a production run. Wood has to dry to the proper moisture content to get the weight to an acceptable level. The preparation in each department is not rushed as we take our time and make sure the quality level on each instrument is consistant. We also have a certain amout of time we like the finish on each body to"cure" in our oven before we send it on to to the next department.

Our current lead time of 8-12 weeks reflects the backorder status we have for the amout of Music Man orders taken throughout the world.
