When orders were first being taken, I seem to recall BP stating that the only thing holding up the works, was a backorder on, I believe, the 5-way switch. Is that taken care of, and are we now looking at the traditional 12 week wait time?

As there often is with new products, there has been a speed bump or two get over. We should start shipping these in January 2006.

Sorry Jack but, all lefty Bongo's have to be finished first. See the up charge for a lefty covers the "Photo Finish" special order option. This process involves a digitized photo of the person that ordered the bass and is attached to the neck pocket paddle. Ursula then "buffs" each one differntly, based on their physcial image.

Yes, we expect the first Y2D's to be ready to ship in 4-6 weeks. We will be making the standard bridge first, followed by the Floyd Rose version. The 2 pickup basses are scheduled to start shipping in January.

Is this anticipation or what?

Sounds good to me. One of those Y2D's with a Floyd has my name on it, so I'm one of those waiting with baited breath. I figured I wouldn't see it until December or January. The wait for this one won't be nearly as bad, though, since I have a JP to play! Last time I only had those 'other' brands to see me through, and I barely survived. ;)

Steve, it is a tribute to your endurance that you made it through that. You should see your Floyd Y2D in December sometime, then you can give your JP a break now and then.

Hey, thanks for that. I'm no hero, I suppose we've all got our survival stories. :D

I plan to put the Petrucci down every once in a while to play that Y2D. But not for long unless I'm sitting, 'cause those Y2D's have notably more weight than a JP!
(I guess having a maple top and no contours will do that to a guitar.)

Dave, it could be a little while - sorry to say your guitar will probably not be among the first made - :( But not to worry, it won't be too bad!
