I met up with Jason at the Atlanta GC today, and it was a blast.

#1, he hooked me up with the TI flats Ive been wanting to try on the SR5. And they are AMAZING. I dont think Ill ever use another string on the StingRay 5.

#2, Jason brought his white Bongo 5 fretless and that bass was smokin. Easily the best sounding fretless bass Ive ever heard. Let me tell ya too, Jason is one heck of a player. He tore that Bongo to shreds, and had excellent tone.

Just thought Id share that with you guys.

Ever.

He's good.

Today was one of those days, where I just felt like I was playing like crap, and of course it was the day I met up with Jason.

He was rippin away, and I felt like a major douche playing in front of him.

Jason, I swear I dont always suck as bad as I did today.

I guess Ill just steal Jacks line. I may suck, but my tone is killer. Now even more killer with the TIs.

Aw, shucks, guys.

I just back from a tooth extraction, so it was nice to read this thread for a nice little ego stroke. The vicodin doesn't hurt, either. :D

I'm glad you dig the Jazz Flats, Travis. Truly great strings, indeed. And, don't let Travis' false modesty fool ya--his playing was anything but crap, I can assure you. I don't think there is anything that I can do that he can't. Of course, since I have been playing for almost as long as Travis has been alive :)eek:), it does feel good that i impressed him a bit.

And, Jack--you can play and sing at the same time, so I don't even want to hear it from you, Mister. I have a hard enough time standing and playing bass at the same time...

Oh, and I'm up for a little fretless Bongo threeway. Someone has to prove to Pete that a fretless can sound amazing with flats....

You're no slouch your damn self. I'd love to meet up again so I can show you that I can actually be personable when you catch me on a non-****y day.
