Protection

Depends on whether "travelling" means carting gear to gigs in a car or van, or whether you want something that can stand up to the rigours of touring, or strong enough to withstand airline handlers.

As the other guys mentioned, SKB is a great option for the first scenario, and I'd even trust their Bass Safe for air travel, but for heavy duty use aluminium is more durable than ABS plastic. Having said that, I have several SKB hard cases, a Bass Safe, and a Rotorack for my bass rig, so I'll vouch for them for general use.

Heavy duty Im talking Droping this stuff off the empire state building. bullet proof fire proof crap.. Lol not really but you get the point. Rigour touring as you call it
 
Ok i found a good bass case thing.. I dont like how all the heavy duty bass cases wont let you put your hardshell inside of it. Id rather put my bass in my hardshell into the Protective case. o well. Im still having problems finding a shipping/protective case for an 8 x 10 cab tho
 
A flight case for an 8x10 cab would cost almost as much as the cab itself. If you're in a touring band, great idea. But, if you want to protect the cab for a once off trip across the US in a freight van from home to your uncle's place, your best bet would be to make a crate yourself from pallet timber.
