I've been considering my 2nd EBMM for some time now. I'm torn between models but am looking at another Petrucci but this time with Piezo. I'll probably be going with our man Pete too. Just hope the next batch you get has a color I like.

comp. nut has individual string lengths that are slighly different and string specific.

maybe someone can post a pic.

Hello all!

I don't know under what rock I've been hiding, but what does "compensated nut" mean? Never heard of that one...

How's this?

You can see how each string has a notch cut out from under it in the front of the nut - this is kind of like the saddles on the other end of the guitar, only the nut is not adjustable. It has notches of certain depths for each string, so that the open and chorded strings remain in tune with one another better.

If I explain this correctly, it's based on the idea that when you play on the frets (more noticeably the lower frets) you are increasing the string tension on the fretted strings, which could cause them to sound slightly sharp. The compensated nut addresses and corrects that problem.

Pete left me a message today on that very subject. There was no information however.
I'm waiting patiently!
But I do love me a big font.
