Hey guys, I'm in the market for a silhouette. I'm in NYC. The issue being - I can't find any. Even the internet isn't the easiest place to find them it seems. I'd really like to sit down and compare a SSS to a HSS and decide the pickup config I want. Can anybody direct me to a dealer?

Thanks,
Tom

If you give MusicMan Customer Service a call they can tell you which dealers in your area have Silhouette Specials in stock.
Toll-free, 866-823-2255

(Silhouette is 24 frets HSH only, Silhouette Special is 22 frets HSS or SSS)

The major difference is the wiring. On the HSS the ONLY single coil you get is the neck. The middle position on the HSS is the neck and the top coil of the HB. If you want more than just a neck true single coil sound, you'll want the SSS.

I had an HSS for a month or 2 and sold it to get an AL that I have on order with the SSS setup.

Basically if you want a strat killer you want the SSS.

So true... i've been playing a lot of gigs that have been pop/indie Christian music and i had to purchase a non-ebmm hollow body... to get that vintage rockabilly tone but today i busted out my SSS Silhouette Special and it was a joy to play it again... nothing and i mean NOTHING compares to an EBMM guitar

that SSS Silhouette Special is a Strat killer...

I don't think that's on all Silo spec HSS.

I had a blue dawn HSS 2001 silo spec that I picked up here used. First thing I did was to pull it all apart and it was wired with a 5 way switch.....neck, neck/mid, mid, mid/one coil of hum, hum. The silent circuit was in place for the singles.
