Yeah that shot is much better representation of your axe. It does seem like the tops are tough to photograph, the colors appear to show up darker than they actually are. I know my Bahama Blue has much more green in it than it appears in photos.

Best time to catch the top is right at sunset or anywhere between
6:00-7:00 pm really makes them shine.

Actually, they are darker... the purple ones don't show the grain as well as the official photographs, or any photographs where the light is emphasized. Basically, in person, they are very rich and look like an amethyst Jewel... literally. It looks like my class ring (my birth stone is amethyst). The figuring shows up nicely on stage when light hits it just right... gives it a very three dimensional look. It's just not quite as blue as they are on the official thread, or as bright as in the pics on this thread... the pics are just good for seeing the figuring... pictures do NOT do these things justice... even very good pics.

This is a very good point. The lighting I used on mine was just to get the figuring to come out well. I had to use a hella flash to get that to come out. In good natural light it's not as extreme.

Stage lights are very nice to the amethyst BFRs.
