Seriously?? Geez even the top made best quality guitars can have issues after much abuse in a store, especially at a GC. And whats an ENMM?

I have played a 10,000.00 PRS that was not setup and abused at a GC sounded like chit! Dude needs to return it for new in the box fresh from the distribution center.

I was referring to just the fact it was played in the store, not the strings. I wasn't clear (typing the response mobile). To me, just because it was played doesn't invalidate the nut (and to me the bridge is a total non issue) -- of things that would affect tuning. A "setup" is string action, truss rod adj, and bridge/saddles, none of which affect tuning.

I've mentioned it before and I'll mention it again since I had a similar struggle which ended up having nothing to do with binding. There may be damage to the bridge posts or knife edges. If they are gouged or notched in any way, this can also cause tuning to not return 100% after using the trem.

I can totally see some idiot in GC picking up a floor model and reenacting the Vai whammy intimidation scene from the duel in Crossroads. I once worked in a music store for a number of years and I've got hours upon hours of messed up stories I could tell.
