Purple Quilt Axis trade?

Hey everyone, I am a newer memeber and glad i found his Forum.
I have a 2000 Axis in trans purple quilt that I just love to play on.
However, I'm not a huge fan of purple.
With that said, I was wondering if someone here would like to trade me straight up for a different color Axis.
My Axis is a solid 9.5 and still has the plastic on the cavity covers.
I got it as NOS dealer inventory just last year.

My favoite color is the trans aqua color but any color will do.
A hardtail wouldn't hurt my feelings either (My purple one is a Floyd)

I play a little bit of everything guys. My main player right now is the AXIS because it is the most similar neck I can find to my favorite neck of all time: The Kramer banana head neck with the narrow 1 5/8" nut and the non scarf joint back-side.

If i could just get something different then purple I'd be as happy as a calm!

My 2nd son, who is just learning, has a Jackson SDK2 with a Floyd Rose, so I guess I ought to check that out sometime. I need to change the strings and set it up (which I've never done with a Floyd Rose).

I'm hoping that I won't need to worry with the tremolo. It's set up pretty nice now. I'm just going to put 9's on instead of 10's, to make it a little easier for him to play, since he's just starting out. So, hopefully I can just adjust the neck.

I have to get through getting my guitars the way I want them, before I worry with that though.

If you switch string gauge, You generally don't have to adjust the neck.
However, what you will need to adjust are the two screws that hold the spring claw into the body.
Since you are going to lighter gauge strings, The back end of the Floyd will want to pitch down. THis is OK if you don't pull the Floyd upward when using tremolo. As a matter of fact, EVH used to set his Floyds up in this manner on purpose. It would allow for HUGE Dive-Bomb effect on the tremolo AND by letting the trmolo rest on the back of the guitar opposed to leveling the bridge, If you break a string the Floyd has nowhere to go so it won't go out of tune.
But, If you want to set the Floyd up by the book, then all you have to do when switching to lighter gauge strings is simply tune the guitar to pitch once the new strings are installed then loosen the two trem-claw spings until the Floyd is level. Re-tune then fine-adjust the two screws.
Once you do this a few times it becomes second nature. No-one should pay a tech $25-$40 to set-up a Floyd. It is a 10 minute ordeal at best.
