okay, I have a question...I'll do my next gigs with my 20 th only...the silo and the luke would stay in the studio.

what guitar would be the perfect spare for my 20 th on stage ? axis MM 90 ?

The perfect spare is always the exact same guitar, otherwise it won't sound the same & you'll need to change settings. ....unless you want a different sound.
That's why I have an unused red Silhouette Special.
Buy another 20th.

Tristan,

Have to agree that the only good backup is another 20th, someone should be able to help you find one.;)

I won't buy a silo 20th, don't forget I'm an endorsee...I have to choose something as close as possible in the range of MM instruments.

Prince is a very un-guilty pleasure of mine, and watching you play was a great pleasure. :)

I agree with what's been said previously: the only thing that can match a 20th is another 20th.

But if one is looking for something close, wouldn't a (non-20th) Silhouette be a logical starting point?

And if 24 frets are not a must have, then I think the next closest would be a Y2D or an Axis Super Sport since both have a maple cap. If changing pickups is an option, then by all means consider experimenting with different pickups. I think Dudley has said that the Virtual PAF and the Virtual Hot PAF were the starting points for the 20th's pickups. I've often wondered how an Axis SS would sound with regular PAFs in it.
