Hmmm Silhouette, Jcm800, Axis. My kinda guy :D

I have a silhouette special and jcm800.. Looking to get an Axis. I wouldn't mind playing an axis before i make the dive... How does it compare to the silo?

BTW, isn't there some Axis @ Steve's Music ?
I saw a few when i last went there (2 yrs ago)

The pickups on the axis are definitely hotter
They won't twang like the neck pickup on the SiloSpec
Yet, they have a very interesting dynamic, they are
very sparkly and clear. The middle position on the
axis is interesting with much less mids, very nice
on cleans !

I think the pickups on the axis are the best humbuckers
out there !

Hey there! I was manly reffering to the neck and body feel. How is it different. I find the silo sits perfectly. I have a Yamaha SBG1000 and it's not as cumfy as the silo.

The necks are different, but not that far off. I went from a Silo Special to an Axis SS and felt really comfortable. The body, however, is different. With the contours I find the Silo or special fits comfortably into the body (sooooo comfy), whereas the Axis body has a flat top so you don't get the same resting position for your arm. (Still has the under-body contour, but it's not as pronounced.)

That said, I'm really fond of the flat top (I also like it on the Morse) - it really allows you to control the guitar position with your forearm. Just takes some getting used to is all.

Actually the last time I talked to them, about 3 months ago, they had a Purple Axis.

I know a guy named Raj who's a local guitar player. He's got a Purple one and a Black Cherry burst one.

Personally I'd like one in Teal Pearl, Trans Blue, or Graphite Pearl.
