Help! Push/push volume problem

Loosen the set screw and remove the knob. See if it will still lock down without the knob. If the knob shifts a bit, sometimes it won't go down far enough to cause it to latch / unlatch.

If adjusting the knob height doesn't work you could try this, it works

Last solution is to replace the pot:

I experienced this with my Luke III. I ended up buying a replacement push/push pot from Ernie Ball. It's not a big deal to install if you are familiar with basic soldering and most repair shops can handle it easily if you aren't.
