what are exact dimensions (width and height) of the 4-bolt neck plate?

Welcome to the Forum.

Measurements on my 1989 SR4 are...

Height: 2 1/2 inches X Width: 2 inches.

I imagine it's the same for Pre-EBs. It's the same on my 62 RI J Bass.

Sure enough, Gav. I had a spare Fender neckplate in my tool box, and held it up to the one on my 4-bolt stingray, and it is pretty much the same size.
