Hi

I have a new JP6 wich I love. It came directly form the factory and the action is just a tad bit low (to the point where there is some slight buzzing)

My question is: If I want to keep the sampe string gauge, etc but simply raise the action a bit, will I be ok just turning the truss rod a bit to the right....or is this something Ill have to take to get setup again if i make a small action adjustment

Thanks

Here's how to raise or lower your music man's action

Q: What is the best way to adjust the action on my Music Man guitar?
A: The best and easiest way to adjust your action is to use the truss rod. To lower your action, turn the wheel clockwise. To raise your action, particularly if you have fret buzz, turn the wheel counter clockwise. It is always a good idea to make just one or two turns at a time, then play it and see if it needs more adjustment. It normally doesn't take many turns of the wheel to notice a difference.
A "turn" as defined here is inserting an adjustment tool and moving a spoke of the wheel from one side of the opening at the body at the neck to the other side.

In the past Prior to owning EB guitars, I would never have contemplated raising the action using a truss rod adjustment. I would have always raised the action by adjusting the saddles.
Raising the saddles also requires you to re-intonate.

I have altered an action on an EB guitar using the truss rod , but I'm still "old school" and would still opt for altering using the saddles.
Some players prefer a "dead flat" neck others don't mind some relief = higher action.

I'm with spud on this one. I like a medium action, but I have to have the neck pretty flat. Using the truss rod to achieve this doesn't work for me most of the time, so I have to make the adjustment at the saddles.

Try the truss rod adjustment first. If you like the feel of it, then you're good to go.
