Any recommendations on a good teaching video for slap technique?

hhmmmmmm........

Anything featuring Marcus Miller (he has a concert DVD out btw), Victor Wooten (who also has a DVD or 2 out), Larry Graham, Bootsy Collins, Prince, and the list goes on and on and on....

However, slap is the icing on the bass cake. I see players who try to make out only slapping - i hate that - but at the same time, I like to slap and I like to hear it done tastfully and well done......

But i guess that's true about any style...

Man, you guys are really getting to me. I haven't ever had much need for slap bass, but when I do try you would probably compare it to a Hoover vacuum cleaner.

Videos are great but try to track down a good local teacher, someone at the Collegiate level or a working player. That'll be your best avenue.

i agree - the artists i mentioned earlier - i'm talking about simply learning from them from their recordings - they have no instructional videos that i know of.

Teachers are good, but learning from listening developes the ear along with other things too....
