I just bought a 2004 LTD Envy Green Stingray. and it came with the regular black musicman case, SKB type. Is this the standard case for the 2004 LTD's, or is there another? I purchased this new ( or so I was told), looks new and it had been sitting in the shop for a while. Thanks,

JP

Yep, both the Radiance Red and Envy Green Limited Edition models came with the standard case. The ButterCream '05 and Black/Gold '06 Limited Edition models come with the awesome cases with crushed velvet interior, and a special Limited Edition plate in the case..

I might be wrong here, but I distinctly remember Bovine mentioning a GG case that i was supposed to get my Bongo in (bought it second hand from Jack). Seems that when Jack bought the Envy green Bongo there weren't any cases for the Bongos, so they were sold with gigantic GG cases.
Ah well, maybe they were shipped with cases later on?

The first Bongos were shipped from Musicman without cases for about a year and a half. I don't know the reason why.

My Dargie Green will be my first Bongo that has actually shipped with a case. My fretless has a neck date of 8/24/04 and it shipped without a case.

Yup, mine are Sep 9 2004 and Oct 20 2004, and both were supposedly shipped sans case.

But, as jack is a real class act, he gave me a skb case for the envy green, as the GG case was too big to fit into a box. For the other bongo I purchased a case when I bought the bass (january 2005), because by then the cases were supposed to fit the Bongos. That case is not the same as the one I got from jack though, as the newer (jack's) case has a kind of groove for the lower horn of the bongo, making it impossible for the bass to slide forward in the case.
