Hi I recently purchased and Albert Lee MM90 with piezo. I'm wondering how the routing for the piezo affects the sound of the guitar in regular electric mode. I think I'm hearing a slight hollow or airy sound to the guitar that I'm attributing to the extra routing that was done to accomodate the piezo electronics under the pickguard. Anybody else notice this? Just wondering if anyone has done and A/B comparison of an Albert Lee and and Albert with piezo to see if the guitar in regular electric (i.e. without any piezo volume on) sounds any different. Hopefully my question makes sense. Great guitar.....love the Albert lots!

Another major difference is the saddles. So I'd wager that might be the difference your hearing.

The piezo has the block saddles while the non-piezo has the vintage (bent) saddles. To my ears, that makes a big difference on any guitar- I've swapped saddles on some of my others and noticed the difference.

Thanks for the replys. I think I'm just getting used to the sound of the pickups. I hadn't actually heard or played an AL MM90 before buying one (from the rave reviews and the excellent youtube vids, I thought it was the logical next guitar for me). And I really like the sound....beef and twang all rolled into one. :)
