Question about the Butterscotch Stingray Old Smoothie

Could someone tell me if the body of this model is alder or ash? I see the website specs list it as alder, but in the 3 or 4 pictures I could find on the internet the grain pattern looks like ash.

You are right. In some pictures they look like ash:


But they grain is more closed and the grain lines more subtle and a little bit redish color.
So what you see is definitely Alder.

That butterscotch one definitely looks like ash.

Anyone know where I can find a lighter weight one (around or slightly under 9 lbs)?

Butterscotch finish, alder body, maple neck, 2 band eq - it's almost like it was special ordered with all my favorite options!
