Mornin all. Just wondered if the new EB straplocks will work with the existing strap buttons on my JP6? I'd love to think so because the last thing I want is to start messing with her and risk wearing out the threads.

Hail Almighty shredder Puppyonacid.
I bleeb that they will fit without any mod.
However when I fitted my Dunlops I only had to reduce the circumference of the screws by a smidgeon. - therefore I was able to use the existing screws.
Enough from me - I'm off to practice !!!

A little bit of wood glue on the toothpick is not a bad idea either.

Same here. I stuffed a few toothpick or matchstick slivers in the hole with some wood glue. It'll be stronger than it was originally.

yes - matchsticks and wood glue is the best trick ever. I filled holes of a neck with this (no EBMM) and screwed it again on a git just ~1-2mm beneath and it is as secure as you can imagine.

Even better is to get some new screws
Go to your local supply shop and get something as long as the original MM screws but with a smaller head. You can get a better fit than having to fill-redrill the holes.
(And for us Canucks, you can get Robertson screws.)

All I did was reduce the circumference of the screw head. That way - no need to pack with slivers of wood as the screw just went back into the same hole.
