and i'm keeping the other bass as well........no need to lose any gear right?

couple more paychecks and it'll be home..........i'm a patient man.

i put a deposit down...........and Xmas killed me for extra play money so..........a couple paychecks and she's home.

but you're right.........i was there for well over an hour, and buddy helping me, tried all the moves but the credit company didn't want to merge two accounts together(still owing a bit on my Ampeg there).........that way they nail me twice on everything.

so i'll have to wait.............good things (EBMM) come to those who wait eh..........:D

Ah sweet, that's an awesome deal! i paid $700 for mine, although it was next to new and gear is much more expensive over here, congrats!

And i wondered how you guys could afford all this nice equipement, looks like it's on credit! lol, i'm only 17 so i can't do that. Only joking though, i'm sure some of you guys are rich :D

dude...........that's @ 19% credit........but!!!!!!!!!

it makes it easy to have said gear at your house than have to wait eh........which is exactly the scenario i am in with the SUB.

but the layaway is much cheaper.........i just don't get the goods 'til i'm all square right........

That's it, only one hummer. Either passive with both bass and treble cut, or active 2 band EQ.

Question. I actually started this thread about my new SUB 5. If I run it with the treble and bass off, is it passive? Is the battery still being used because in essence I have turned the preamp off?

Any insight would help as this bass is new to me. By the way, I really like it, although the string spacing is different than my Sterling 4, which is taking me some time to get use to.

I don't think so, the current should always run through the guitar lead, it helps eliminate hum i believe.

Um, well, back to reality.

Rex's SUB arrived today. Haven't even cracked open the box but I'm going to tonight.

Thanks for letting me visit with it!

Enjoy while you can... and don't forget... no pics, no bass!
(and I'd dig a soundfile to hear a SUB)

Dang! This thing is FINE, my good peeps.

I'll try to get some photos before Rex spirits it away. I played it for three hours straight last night and, as a player, it's every bit as good as any full-priced Stingray I've ever played. Wow.

Are there supposed to be center detents on the knobs? I may have to reseat these if there are, because they ain't there. No biggie, as I always say, "I turn the knobs until it sounds good and then I stop turning the knobs."

Even the teal-esque color doesn't bother me, and I'm not what you'd call a big fan of teal-esque.

As is the case with so many EBMM basses, if this were the only one I had, I'd feel fortunate to have it.

Killer SUB, Rex. You're gonna like this one.

I guess the preamp is the same as in the 2EQ StingRays... then tere are no detents.... also I'd think that the pickup is the same, probably wouldn't make sense to start a special production run for the SUBs. But then I've seen they aren't equipped with the Schaller made MusicMan tuning machines, but some others (cheaper? Hipshots?).

While this bass is located at a known MM expert, it would be great if you could provide such details, Jack! I'm contemplating whether I should bite one every time there's one popping up on eBay...
