I guess the preamp is the same as in the 2EQ StingRays... then tere are no detents.... also I'd think that the pickup is the same, probably wouldn't make sense to start a special production run for the SUBs. But then I've seen they aren't equipped with the Schaller made MusicMan tuning machines, but some others (cheaper? Hipshots?).

While this bass is located at a known MM expert, it would be great if you could provide such details, Jack! I'm contemplating whether I should bite one every time there's one popping up on eBay...

Not an expert, just an enthusiast.

I do think this preamp and pickup is the same, and believe I've read as much here.

The tuners look like regular (Schaller) EBMM tuners - same basic design, but without the logo on the back plates. If they're different, it's not by much.

From Gav's website. They look the same from the front, to be sure.

Should you bite when one pops up on eBay? Only you know the answer to that, but I obviously think these are great instruments. This is the first (and only) one I've ever spent any time with. Thanks again to Rex for giving me the opportunity.

There are some still some new ones out there at certain dealers.

Also, in a sort-of related topic, I heard the OLP licencing isn't being renewed or something...meaning no more OLP gear? I was just wondering if this was true or if there's a press-release or something. Most things on Google come up as "Our Lady Peace" when typing in OLP.
