Question concerning current Morse black pickguards.

The pickguard on my Steve Morse has seen better days. It's also one of the older black pickguards with a matte finish. I'm thinking about ordering a new one from the dealer, but first I'd like to know if the black pickguards on the Steve Morse these days is polished or if it is still a matte finish.
