Question for the technical experts

Say I buy a new SR5 with the compensated nut, but I want to restring it to EADGC. Would I have to replace the nut because all the strings would now have the wrong compensation? Or since they say its more for guitar and bass players really wouldnt notice, would it not be that big of a deal?

replace nut? it depends on string gauge. if you do a heavey e 105- 100 guage then, no. if you have the nut with the grooves it the grooves that add to the sustain, the change might effect that (most people wouldn't notice.).
