For those that currently have a 20th silo in their possession, I have a question. I would like to know how the feel and playability compare to that of a Parker Fly Mojo (for those that have played both).
Thanks,

Well, here is the story.

I called Pete Dubaldo on a Wed. afternoon, around noon time my time (south Texas). I called to order the 20th Silo. Unfortunately, he wasn't there and the guy who answered told me it was best to speak to Pete. He took my info. and was told Pete would call me back. He did, infact, call me back later that day. But before he called me, something happened. My wife and I were going to attend function out of town. I went into a guitar store and behind the counter they had a brand new Parker Fly Mojo for $1,699. Musician'sFriend has them for $2,499. The owner was just trying to get rid of it because he'd had it behind the counter for the better part of a year and he was losing money paying interest on it. I figured I could buy it and if I didn't like it, I prob. wouldn't lose any money if I decided to sell it. I DO like it, but for some unknown reason, my heart yearns for a MusicMan. I don't know what it is. I thought the Parker would cure my GAS, but it hasn't. I know, many of you are thinking, "just buy both". Unfortunately, that is not possible right now (I don't know how Robelinda does it....orders like 5 guitars or something).
Just wanted to reassure that I made a good decision. Damn the torture!

I think the 20th is the better choice, because of its uniqueness, beauty of the WOOD and of course it is a MUSIC MAN :D! Also no one will be able to have it after the time is up when the ordering period is over which I think it is already or will be soon.

Any EBMM v Parker Fly = well you know the rest. Darchirnoj, I seem to remember the last time you bought a guitar and it wasn't a MM, you ended up selling it rather quickly. I guess some of us learn the hard way:rolleyes:

I b'leeb it was a Schecter, if my memory serves me correctly... but that's water under the bridge ;)

Certain guitars do it for certain people. Parker Fly Mojo for some, Fender Stratocaster for others, and a Gibson Les Paul for a big part of the crowd. Factor ErnieBall MusicMan into the crowd, and you typically have a bunch of die-hard fans and players for life.

Is an EBMM for everyone? Maybe not, but my opinion is that the 20th Anniversary Silhouette is hands-down THE BEST guitar that ErnieBall MusicMan has ever offered, and this guitar is worth a shot over all the rest. I believe that the form, fit, and function of this guitar are second to none. This guitar epitomizes what EB brings to the guitar community - it pays respect to their past and shows a step towards their future evolution of the instrument (and some other models in their lineup).

Is a 20th Anniversary Silhouette the right guitar for you?
That's for you to decide.

Do I have a bunch of them on order waiting for someone to call/email saying they want one?
You bet I do! :D

darchirnoj... how would you then describe the sounds of your Mojo Parker...? It sounds like you're not totally satisfied (maybe I'm just reading that into it) I'm especially curious about the SD coil splits.....??

In truth, I do own two Parker Fly's and like them very much...

Of all my guitars, the Luke with EMG-S's replacing the original pickups sounded & played the best...

But I will say that the Flys are right behind it when it comes to playability... even with the much wider nut ...(something which can be problematic for my smaller hands..) What I've also found out about the Parker's is that their humbucker coil splits are really strong, and thus very useful, as opposed to many other weak humbucker splits that I've experienced with other brands...

Interesting, if he was serious about the Parker then why the question about the Silo?

hey i didnt order them all at once! I'm just a musician not a rich businessman! I ordered the Y2D in March having saved for 3 months, then at the end of April i'd done a stack of gigs so i ordered the honeyburst Axis, a few months later the 20th silo became available so i put my name down for one, but i still havent got all the money yet! Plus i sold all my ibanez's, which was 5, and enough opn ebay from them to pay for some ebay Ernie Balls. the dargie is gonna be a squeeze come december/january.

I have such bad GAS!!!

It's not that I don't like the Parker. It plays amazingly well and sounds great. It's not perfect, though. I didn't know the history of the company or the recent changes it has gone through before I bought it. In all honesty, had the store had it at regular price, there is no way I would have dished out the cash for it. There are some quality issues with my guitar re: finish and hardware (toggle), last two pickup poles are not aligned prop. with strings. Also, it's not your traditional guitar. I do enjoy playing it. Then I go and play my bud's USA strat and I like it also. It's more traditional and the neck feels great.
Re: the coil splitters, yes, the fly does a very good job of that compared directly to the SSS configured strat. The piezos nice to although I don't use it much.
When I look at the silo, I get more of a simplicity type of vibe and that's very comforting. The sound of the fly does suit my style/preference of playing, however. I just wish I could try one of the silos out because perhaps it might too.
I just want to feel that oil/waxed neck damnit!:D

Hey robelinda. Sorry, didn't mean to sound like a flame. I'm just super jealous!:D
Now go play your Y2D!
