I love the look and playability of my Silo Special but prefer the sound of the Albert Lee SSS especially the in between bridge and middle position out of phase sound that Albert always uses. Would the AL pickups sond similar in my Silo? Or would any other pickups used in the Silo come closer to the SD Alnico IIs in the AL? Thanks!

There will be differences, of couse ... different shape, wood, etc. But the APS II pickups are excellent single coils- they do sound different than the stock p'ups in the SS. (I think those Duncans are often overlooked when people talk about replacement single coils ... they're great.)

Ash and alder are different beast. You can come close to the sound by using same pups but it won't match 100%

Did you play an Albert Lee already? As weird as the shape may look it's a comfortable guitar i didn't like it in the beginning until I tried one :)
