I have a 2000 SR5 with rosewood neck, can it be swapped out for a 1998 SR5 maple neck?

Yeah I had origianlly posted in for sale to swap out the bass for a maple, but then realized maybe just a neck swap would be better for both of us, and cheaper to ship.

Don't lose the shim when you take off the neck.

Yeah that's another question, should the shim go with the neck or stay with the body?

Ummm, dunno, I only have two MM basses and they have the same size shim...
I think you can keep it, as I *think* that the shim is from design rather than tweaking (ie it's easier to shim than make a ever so slightly slanted neck pocket)...
