i was wondering because there is no hum. when i use the single coil,,so i was wondering if there is a dummy pickup for noise cancellation,??? so that would mean ther would be two dummies on my bass,,,THanks
If I remember correctly it is built under the S pup
thanx,, i been wanting to change to clear pickguard, but i guess that is not such a good idea , maybe bblack swirl or blue swirl on a pacl\ific bluenburst
Okay, so I'm reading your signature, and I don't see anything that could be an H/S bass.Update!!!
The HS models are the most interesting of the EBMMs.
On the Bongo, the humcancelling is accomplished by a small round coil in the control cavity. Best sounding S pickup IMO.
On the Stingray, the humcancelling coil is under the pickguard between the S and H pickups.
On the Sterling, the S pickup is actually a stacked humbucker so the lower coil is the humcanceller.

i just updated my signature , i have 2 new ones , but i will have to sell some of them unfortunatley, it isnt easy trying to decide whch ones have to go
That's pretty neat imo. does it look like an inductor or something? have you had a chance to look at the big al wiring?
It's a little round black thing about the size of a nickel, with a little trimpot on the top. You can use the pot to perfectly dial in the humcancelling - very cool idea.
I did poke around in the Big Al and I can't see any extra coils or anything. The pickup covers are pretty tall though.
The single coils on the Big Al are stacked neodymium. So you could say it's a triple humbucker.![]()
