Vinnie,

I travelled all the way from Belgium to SLO to come to the open house. One of the reasons was you playing there. I never had the opportunity to hear or buy some of your music in the past, so this was a great chance to see, hear, speak to you in person. And you totally blew me away. The drive in your music, the speed combined with musicianship just says it all. Once back home, I immediately ordered The Maze, Out of Nowhere and Defying gravity. The maze is in my posession now, but the two other are still not here (they were ordered after the Open house). Are there problems with the distribution of these CD's?

On the other hand: we all like some good stories from being on tour. If there are some good ones you'd like to share, feel free to do so.

And, oh yeah, keep us posted about that upcoming work of yours. Need more VM music :D :) :D

Thank you for being at the OH and blowing me away. Keep up the amazing guitar work.

Cheers, Tom.

The short shorts and sandals don't hurt any.

Who's gonna tell you "NO!" when you're built like this?

I thought the caption for Tommy would be:
Hey, I guess he does work out.
It was just a joke Janice. I am in no way challanging Tommy's hetrosexuality.

Wow, what a fantastic read. It's a shame I missed the boat on these questions. but we sure are glad that Vinnie is a EBMM fan too. My favourite VM records are Meltdown and the Live album. Thanks again Vinnie.

Multi Emmy Award Winners

New York, NY - Asphalt Jungle (www.asphaltjungle.net), the Emmy Award winning team of Tarquin & Ingram, have a long history in recording/producing albums together. Inspired by the early 90's London Acid Jazz and British Electronic Music Revolution, the duo scored a “Top 20” Billboard hit in 1999 with, This Is Acid Jazz: The Best Of Acid Jazz Vol. 2 on Instinct Records. They released their first album, Electro Ave in 2002 to critical acclaim. They also produced a dance remix for the hit song, “Tubthumping” by the band, Chumbawamba on Republic Records. In 2003 and 2005 they won an “Emmy for Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction and Composition for a Drama Series” and were nominated for another Emmy in 2004. Together they wrote the theme music for MTV's “Road Rules,” as well as producing music for many other shows such as MTV’s “Tough Enough,” ABC's “Making The Band,” “Extra” and the Keanu Reeves film, The Watcher (see complete list of credits below).

Their second release, Enjoy This Trip, successfully charted to top 30 on the CMJ charts. Tracks like “Rock the Nation,” blend funk and groove laced with phatt guitar licks, followed by the Rasta rap vocals of, “I Tell You That” and the hypnotic drum n’ bass melody of “Galway.” The album also includes the chill out track, “Tekken” that first debuted as MTV’s “Road Rules” theme song on one of their luxurious seasons. Now on their new release, Junglization, they explore new territory with the tracks, “Athena” and “Apocalypse,” by experimenting with live string arrangements, showcasing their extensive musical ability to add depth and drama over heavy drum n bass breaks, which truly sets them apart from other electronic artists. The album opens with the classic Bob Marley tune, “Mr Brown” stunningly remixed and tweaked, breakbeat-style for the club DJs.

Asphalt Jungle's first release, Electro Ave was a culmination of experience and desire. It incorporated funky big beats with metallic percussive guitar riffs and featured the MTV “Road Rules” theme, "Witchcraft.” The album included a bonus remix of “Witchcraft” by DJ Soul Slinger & DJ Wally of Liquid Sky. It also contained the track "Tinsel Town" which was heard by millions of “Making The Band” viewers. With their own unique style, Asphalt Jungle blended live raw guitar tones with fast paced bottomless grooves.

Following are some media quotes. Remix Magazine calls Asphalt Jungle’s production, “Adrenalin-fueled… fast breaks, dirty electro sounds and distorted guitar add enough grit to inspire winning runs from BMXers.” XLR8R Magazine describes the album as, “Breaks steam roll, gathering grit, while keyboards twitter and guitar tones that scream towards the stratosphere… the duo add an invigorating raw flair that’s distinctly theirs.” BPM stated that, “Electro Ave combines hard-hitting rock guitar tones over electronic grooves… take the electronic genre to a new level, letting the live instruments explode in the forefront.” Keyboard Magazine wrote, "…intense, guitar driven electronica - fast and funky beats, an in your face mix, rapid-fire sample slices, loops made out of screaming metal guitar riffs."

Tour with Savatage @1991

Hi Vinnie,

I had tickets to see you open for Savatage the week after Criss Oliva died. I saw you headline at Bogarts Cafe in Cincinatti after Savatage cancelled and it was awesome. I was very disappointed to miss Savatage but you had just released Meltdown and it was AWESOME!!! I was wondering if you ever played with Savatage and/or Criss Oliva or Chris Cafferey? If you have are there any recordings of it available? Is there any chance of getting to see a Vinnie Moore tour any time soon?

Welcome on this cool forum!

but.....his thread is a one and a half year old and an Vinnie isn't an EBMM endorsee anymore, so i think the chance that your question will be answered is very close to zero...

Hmm, from the wispy depths of time comes - an outdated thread!

Yup, Vinnie has moved on and even if he hadn't, I rather seriously doubt he'd be reading years-old threads.
