Yeah AL's are a fine axe indeed! I liked Alberts playing but wasnt sold on his tne, but one day I played one and I crapped myself! I eventually bought one many years later and havent been happier, all config are GREAT- SSS hardtail/trem, MM90 hardtail/trem. Rosewood board models have been sensational too, for those lucky.

Y'know ... I wasn't the least bit interested in the AL for the longest time. But I bought all the EBMMs, one by one, and just fell in love with it. Beat out my old Luke and Silhouette Special for single coil tones.

And that was it ... until Fred offered me his original pinkie. Then the love-fest started all over again.

Amp wise, my AL loves my Guytron or my Badger 18 :)

okay ... little update here....

finally had some play time at the local shop with a honeyburst AL. played thru some of my favorite amps .... and a coupla Fenders, Victorias and Traynors for variety.

great weight. awesome shape. loved the neck. tones were awesome all 'round. it is truly an exceptional guitar ... even with me playin'

.... however, I also tried a Silo Special, Silhouette and a JP6 ..... :D:eek::D

I am now officially overwhelmed by how many great sounding guitars there are in the EBMM line-up .... man, I thought I had my sound all wrapped up with the Super Sports .... guess I gotta get one of everything now .... but there is a probably a gear intervention in my future ....

but back to the AL .... it is so freakin' cool. I think I now understand what everyone has been saying :):cool:

cheers always, eh

Joel
p.s. when will I buy the AL? good question ... but the first $10 just landed in the savings jar ;)

Very nice they all are awesome, but an AL, ASS and Luke rule my world, with your amps an AL would be great:)

i saw this and went to the guitar shop 45 minutes later and bought an AL

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PscAZyOMGiA]YouTube - albert lee country boy[/ame]

no joke. I was at work w/ my buddy Phil and we both saw that video and our jaws dropped. he turned to me and said "you have to buy that". so we made a deal: i'd buy an AL and he'd but a silo bass. about an hour later our mission was accomplished.

turns out handing out with employee ~25 @ google gets you in all sorts of "lets go spontaneously buy stuff" adventures

I started working in a music store that actually carried enough Music Man for me to play one. Well, it is now 2 years later and I love my Albert Lee. A couple of days ago I decided to put a new pickguard on the ax. I realized about half way through the project that this was the first time I had ever taken a pickguard off a Music Man guitar. If you have ever worked in a guitar store you would know how shocking this is. I already was in love w/ my AL but when I saw what was under the pickguard I was amazed. It was as well kept w/ the obvious attention to detail as the rest of the guitar. The guitar impresses me every time I pick it up and I'm happier today than the day I bought it. How often can you say that? I play her through a 59 Bassman and a Keeley Java Boost. She is ready at every gig and is always the first guitar I pick up. Now I just need another one. I think she may be getting lonely. By the way, this is my first post on your forum. I think I will try to get myself invited to the ALOC now!
