I've wanted to buy a Stingray bass for a while now. I've played one and think they sound/feel great. Well since I have a full time job and some money I can't think of a reason not to get one.

The only question I have is on what type of wood I want on my neck.
I usually play rock, punk, funk but i'm not too worried about tone. I live in Minnesota so my main concern is the warping of the neck.

Does Maple or Rosewood warp less? Or is their not much of a difference?

Thanks for the input.

It shouldnt make a diiference. EBMM basses are solid. Ive had them on the road since I was 15, so that 7 years now, and Ive never had a problem with a rosewood or a maple neck.

C'mon, most of your neck will be made of maple anyhow, I dont think fingerboard material would matter that much.
I guess if you want to go deep, one would think maple fingerboard is closer in characteristics to the rest of the neck then the rosewood one. So theoretically maple is better, however I can't envision maple neck with rosewood fingerboard repeating highschool physics experiment, where 2 pieces of different metals bolted together warp when heated.

My 2 cent

PS I was gonna reply to you on the guitar side and suggest to move it here, but you already did.

I live in Minnesota, and have owned both rosewood and maple. Much like every place that has temp. and humidity changes you are going to have to make minor adjustments every now and then to keep it in optimum playing condition. The fingerboard shouldn't matter so it all comes down to what looks better to you and what sounds better to you.
