Ordinarily I'd steer away from quilt as the damn things remind me too much of swimming pools. But on the anniversary silo I'd say the quilt takes it, as mentioned in that thread it just reminds me of caramel!

I've got a upgrade flame on order so I'm currently biased twoards flame on this one. I'm hoping to get a "tiger stripe" style flame top.

Quilt for me. I'm not a big fan of tight pinstripe flame on a lot of guitars.

I still grin when I open the case on this one:

Generally speaking I like a real intense quilt. But some guitars require flame. I think Les Pauls are one of these. Quilt on an LP just doesn't look quite right ot me.

But Flame on an Axis doesn't look as good as quilt.

I don't think either would be bad in your case.

Depends upon the type of flamed maple used in most cases. Appearance is a subjective thing. I don't like the narrow flame but the wide, deep flame is a thing of beauty.
