I was told by a seller that the Tiger striped EVH's are more rare or higher in collectability value than the quilts. He is trying to sell me a trans black tiger striped EVH and asking for more. Just wanted to get the forums input or any EBMM employee insights into this claim. If both were produced pretty evenly, especially in trans black, then I can try to negotiate on the price.

Personally I've seen more quilts than flame with the EVH. And I've never seen a flamed trans black EVH. Can you post pics?

well mine is tiger but I don't think it is that rare...and what do you call rare anyway ?

The real question is how much are you willing to pay for that axe ? I don't mind paying a bit more (rare or not) if I like the guitar.

that's how i feel about them. when it comes to the EVHs, the rare factor i think is mostly in the color.

Not that this is statistically correct, but I have over 300 EVH pics, and not even 10% of them are flame.

hey so 10% of 200 (hardtail red EVH) is 2

I am the lucky owner of very very rare model :D

But still I am pretty sure it is not that rare  but rare or not, I love that axe and Axis SS and my silo and my Axis :D

Just anectodal, but I think most people tend to prefer the quilts- or so I gather from the purchases on this board and what I see in stores. (Me, I like both.)

I doubt if a flame top would make it more valuable. If it's an exceptional top then that's the prevailing factor.

I've recently purchased my 40th EVH, and I really don't see how his statement is correct when I look at the prices I've paid. I'd say AAA Quilts are worth more actually.
