This is true. Ive heard of him buying basses and selling them before he even gets them. Give it a try.

I bought this one as a player. I really like the MM's in non-transparent red finishes. I was looking out for one in CAR, but this is just as good and the price is right.

Yep, I've owned a lot of basses. As for making money on em...not usually! But it's a fun thing to do, and for the most part I don't end up losing a whole lot.

Anyway, if someone's interested in buying this one when the time comes (which could be weeks from now, or maybe longer?), please get in contact with me and I'll put you on my "vulture list".

I got the bass today. The red is really nice--just what I was looking for. Kinda sparkly-like, and deep. Gotta put a new set of Sadowsky Nickel rounds and we'll see what happens. I think I'm going to dig it though.

Hey Jerome,

Did you know that the GC down the street (east) from you in R. C. had a used Bongo 4 HH priced at $785. I think it was a lava pearl, but I'm not sure.

I was sightseeing at some shops after NAMM, I passed on the Bongo but another bass did follow me home (actually it's being delivered next week). Nothing too fancy, just something I liked.

Wow, really? I like the staff at that GC for the most part, but I rarely keep anything I buy from them. I've been visiting the Pasadena store (it's near where I work), but they have more of those "metal" kids who play real loud but not well.

What'd you end up buying?

I got the '75 RI Jazz (USA) natural ash body, maple board w/black blocks (a long time favorite look for me) at the GC in San Bernardino

Some of those basses on your list look very familiar :) It's also somewhat out of date.

I have a black Thunderbolt 6, I wonder if it's your #088. I have fond memories of good old #063 that you got from me, and I also really enjoyed #065 that I got from you.

I thought I had a pretty long list, but mine can only be considered a junior list compared to yours. I can agree with Jerome that it's very seldom that any money is made when you take into account shipping costs and the minor repairs and upgrades that have to be done on some of them. But it is a lot of fun, and very educational to play such a variety of basses, and if you are careful what you buy up front you can usually come close to breaking even.
