Which color, in your opinion, is more "attractive"?

Radiance Red or Desert Gold Bongo

okay okay... long story short - i can't get Teal Pearl Bongo in the configuration I want, and I'm going to have to wait at least 3 months without ANY bass to get it. If I don't decide to wait - these are the current Bongo configurations I'm deciding between.

Can you all help me out. I apologize (again) for the post about color choices, but I can't make up my damn mind.

Radiance Red LTD HH / White Pearloid Guard

vs.

Desert Gold HH / White Ice or Tort Guard

Well, you know my answer....so if you want an "unbiased" (HA!) sample, subtract one from the DG column.

Geez, this is so sad. First I get sucked into the Great Whirlpool of Bongo collective, now I'm trying to get people to buy Bongos the same color as mine...and I don't even have mine yet!

I won't clutter the thread with pics I've posted in your previous threads on the subject.....

I feel your pain. And I'm not even a Democrat. Or a Republican, for that matter. I'm an American...a viewpoint that's all to rare these days, I think. Unfortunately, the distinction seems to be lost on the rest of the world...

has the electronics changed any on the dual humbucker models since 2004? Obviously if I get the Radiance Red model - it will be a 2004 LTD - I just want to make sure I'm getting up to date stuff.

rad red was an LE but then later became a standard finish. i think the best way to tell if what youre lookin at is an LE vs. a "newer, standard" rad red is to see if the headstock is black or not: black = LE, non-black (matching or natural) = standard

im pretty sure this applies to Bongos as well unless maybe the Rad Red LE predates the Bongo

This is a scary level of knowledge about the intimate details of EBMM production.

I gotta go RR here...

I dig DG but I've never been one for "earth-tones" - oranges and greens don't do it for me.

Reds & blues... That's the ticket! :D

Both great colors. RR is not standard issue. DG is great.

This poll doesn't work toss a coin. You won't be unhappy either way.

'round my house we call that a "Circular planar binary decision maker."

:D

Actually, it works really well, because you typically use it only when you truly believe you're unsure about something. The moment the result comes up, things come into focus, every time, even if you didn't realize that there was any bias beforehand.

But it only works when you've first reached a real impasse, where you are absolutely convinced that you cannot choose and are willing to trust your fate to the Circular Planar Binary Decision Maker.

Of course, having surrendered yourself in this way, once the "wrong" answer comes up you know it immediately....

Toss the coin and then get yourself a bass. No way you can lose or be unhappy on this.

I really don't want to offend Jack. He has been so helpful to me over the past few days. Answering my "100's of emails"
