Which color, in your opinion, is more "attractive"?

Nah, I told you - it's what I do. I was just being all pouty for a minute. I'm all better now. And I do know what it's like to get all hot for a bass. You do what you need to do and don't worry, I understand.

I've got a desert gold HH Bongo5 w/Tort gaurd and it is a beautiful colour BUT I also have a LTD. Ed. Buttercream 5 and I'll tell ya, when the LTD.s are hard to find you'll be glad you bought one besides, RR Ltd. is a pretty cool look.

Ah, but what's the question?

I believe the question is, "What's the answer to life, the universe, and everything?"

(Forgive me if I've paraphrased, it's been at least a decade since I've read any of those books.)

Or maybe the question is "whats the decimal equivalent of hexadecimal value 2A?"

I like both Desert Gold and Radiance Red on basses. I think that Desert Gold grabs your attention quicker because it is so different, and Radiance Red stuns you in bright light.

I hope that confused everyone?
heh heh heh

RR- Looks good on all basses
DG- Bongo only i think it would look funny on anything else
+1.

Likewise, somehow I think a burst that looks great on a Stingray or Fender would look funny on a Bongo. The curve of the body makes it look like it has a burst anyway. Which is one reason why I like DG...that whole color-change-depending-on-the-light deal is enhanced by the curve of the body.

C'mon, DG fans...RR is winning here!

I was under the impression that that was a burst paint job.

Anyone know for sure? If so, it would be a custom job.

I don't think it's a burst, though...here's the same bass, during the same show. Looks different. If it were a burst it'd look much the same between the various photos...

The thing is, I was at that show...but at the time I was way up against the back wall and couldn't really see him.

Mine's DG b/c it was hanging at a stoopidd cheeaaap price at a GC. If there had been both colors hanging at the same price, I dunno. I guess I'd be stuck with the same question you are..... . . . . Howeverrrr, I notice you are offered a torty PG on the DG but not on the RR. Gottenhimmel would I love to be rid of the 'White Ice' PG that came on mine. If that GC had both colors, same $$ but the DG had a torty PG while the RR had the White Ice? Or vice versa? Love both colors and I'd just take the one with the torty PG and thank Allah for that deciding factor in an otherwise unsolvable dilemma. [OK, not unsolvable if you can buy both.] Not only is White Ice just another uglier version of MOTS, but torty has this sort of vintage effect that counterpoints the StarWars shape of the Bongo.

Looking at the posted on-stage pix of the DG Bongo, I don't see convincing clues to support it being a burst job. Especially being presented more than one lighting angle among the pix, all I see is the very typical artifacts of digital images. Having a DG of mine own and knowing how it "works" the light, I believe the pix show a stock DG finish. Cool to know it looks that way on-camera, just in case I become famous after I'm dead.
