Radiant Debut (pics repaired)

New band, debut show (old band w/new singer; Everyday Kings Official Website) and new (to me) Radiant Red Bongo HS. Show went great, felt really good; new tunes went over well; good crowd... some things I've learned as of late and looking at these pics:
  1. I'm fat
  2. I'm old (gray)
  3. The Bongo looks killer (bafungoo to the haters)
  4. The Bongo sounds as good as it looks (first rehearsal with Bongo, bandmates: "Jim, you're on fire - we're hearing things we've never heard from you."
  5. I wear my bass too high
More Bongo? Yes please.

Trying to look Rock N Roll, and, quite frankly, just looking stupid.

Your list sounds like something I could have written about myself :(.

Oh well, we got BONGO'S! That makes us uber cool and youthful!.

I can't see your pictures though. Am I the only one?

where are the pics?

Weird - I think it may be because they are in MobileMe and when I sign out they won't embed.

I will have to figure this out!

Title

So we have to call you "King James"?:D

Only in Milwaukee! :p

We do actually bill ourselves as:
  • Sir Stephen
  • Prince Albert
  • Czar Nicholas
  • King James
Yeah, I know...

Pics should be fixed now - I hope. Links are from public gallery now.

There really is only one question you need to ask....(the audience always knows this one... whether or not they realize it.. is another matter)....

Did you have fun and enjoy the time playing?

When you do, it comes across to the crowd almost intuitively. I have watched many a band ,whom I would not have listed as something I would have wanted to see, and to my surprise, because they were obviously having a great time , I did as well. The lesson? If you are having a blast, it becomes contagious, and all in attendance will be soon drawn in.

To me , what I see in the pictures is some guys having good times together making music. How much better than that can it get ?

Great pics Jim, I'm glad you're enjoying that beautiful bass.

That neck pickup really is in the perfect spot for you, isn't it?

Congratulations - that is a superb colour, and especially on a Bongo - does anyone know - is radiant red rare on a Bongo - I've never heard of it on a Bongo before?

Rad Red was the first LE color for the Bongo, circa early 2005. Envy Green came along right afterwards, circa late 2005. At the time, LE basses had black headstocks with gold lettering.

Great pics! I personally do not think the bass is too high. My response to that is to try and play Teen Town with a bass hanging to your knees!

Thanks Man - yes, we do pay attention to that. I'm not the best player, but I have been told people enjoy me on stage - a quote was "he ooozes energy..." So, I'm pretty pleased with that, and I'm very pleased that comes accross in the pics.

Cheers!
