ive had these 76 style radio knobs that ive been considering putting on the bass for the longest time probobly before i got the thing. anyways the thing is the knobs are not nearly as tall as the current knobs on there. i was wondering if anyone ever took off their old knobs and per chance measured the pole thingy that the knobs turn. how tall are those? im hoping against having "floating knobs" and rather ones that rest against the pa nicely. thanks for the help!

maybe i should elaborate more, i know dumb question but if i take off the knobs ill be able to re-attatch them so that the area where the screw is lined up will still be an indicator of where exctly the knob is turned to right?

Of course. Make sure they knobs are at their centre detents and then just line them up, and if you get it slightly wrong just adjust it a bit. Easy...surely?

That sub looks very nice, I can imagine a chrome type pickguard would look stunning on it, especially when matching the control plate.

Guys, I just don't get it why should somebody do that?

What's wrong with original metal, chrome (or nickel) plated?

I mean, when I was an owner of my previous 7....r JB with such an ugly old fashioned plastic knobs (whole black, remember?), I was always dreaming to put "normal" metal chromed knobs on it, like You already have on Your bass!

(silence, I kill you :D )

Changing the knobs is an easy and highly reversible way to alter the look of your bass. I remember how shocked I was when I first realized how quick and simple it is to change/adjust the knobs on my bass.

Um, what I meant to say is that, eh, when I want my knobs to come off, I just yell at them and they respond in fear.

Yeah, that's what happens.

Well Maybe not, I heard if you take the knobs off the Pre-Amp quits.
