Hey guys,

I entered a contest on the local radio station, KLOS. You basically email them your 20 second riff and the winner gets a $500 gift certificate to Guitar Center. My song, Whiskey Wine & Women by Eric Hokenson is in the top 10 baby!!!!!  :D

Note that the song was recorded with my Ernie Ball Music Man Stingray, SUB1 and Silhouette Special.

Please vote for me, I am falling behind unforuntately.

I got your back dude...got a vote from me.

Are they playing these during Mark and Brian too? Was going to listen on my commute to work in the morning.

Really fair that Al Estrada is in the mix-a great guitarist, but he is a pro and a ringer in a contest like this. I voted for you. Best of luck.

Thanks guys, appreciate the love from my fellow Ballers!

As the old cliche goes it is an honor to be nominated. I just hope more than 10 guys submitted their riffs. ;)

To be honest, I "stuffed the ballet box" if you will. The song by Kelley Brett, Instrumentality was submitted by me as well. He actually wrote that riff, so he gets full credit, but the "song" was a collaboration and we both recorded it - I played bass and lead guitar on that one as well. (I didn't own any MusicMan guitars yet when that was recorded.)

Voted for ya too. It's a shame they won't allow more than one vote from the same IP address. I already tried. :p

A gratuitous bump in case others want to help out.

Thanks for all your support guys. BTW, I'll be playing Whiskey Wine & Women tonight at Ricky Gene's bar and grill in Lomita with my band Exhibit A. Unfortunately, you will have to hear me sing it as well. ;) Should be fun.

One other thing, and this is in all seriousness, after getting my Music Man guitars I re-recorded that song. I wasn't all that happy with the tone from my old Ibanez so I wanted to reproduce it with a much better instrument. I also added a "clean tone" rhythm with my SUB1. I think it is a big improvement over the original recording.
