i didn't think it was too bad...

but then again i was blown away to see the musically diverse group performing...

and when you look at it from that perspective i thought it was great.

I saw that bass, and a white silo on George Lopez later that night. Noticed Randy was playing a 25th bass on the making of video for the stairway track. Cool to see some EBMM around.

Yeah...unfortunately I have to agree. The only good thing about that video was the Al. The word 'painful' comes to mind...

I just watched it...

It was awful if I am brutally honest.

Steve Vai looked well out of his comfort zone.
Horrible "acoustic" tone and guitar tone. Woulda been better if he used his signature acoustic only.

Randy Jackson and his custom made for this tv appearance Big AL bass was nice though.

Orianthi... am I the only one who is tired of her getting shoved down our throats? She is mediocre at best.
Just because she is a girl I don't believe she should be getting all this praise, in a world where women seek equal rights they dont seem to get it in the guitar world.

The whole performance was missing fire and moreso when it comes after the guitar solo.
The vocals are very important at that section and thats where the fire has to be and it simply wasnt.

YOu guys are a sack of old tarts...that was a great job. I loved the reckless abandon of travis and the vai stuff was wonderful..I texted Vai and said why is that girl taking a solo with you there Then I reminded him that I have taken solos with him next to me so never mind!
