I saw that picture on the tour (I think). The guy that was assembling the blocks/bridges had it hanging above his desk.

The serial of the White Bass above is 50207. I have serials going back to 50101 for the SR5. At the time I thought a non-chronogolical serial.

Maybe PB meant one of the first, as opposed to the first. Also, I could have missunderstood what was said :confused:

Other than the color of the knobs, what's the difference between the proto and the final production model?

I know the first few years had 2 coil pickups with alnico poles like the Stingray.

They later switched to steel/ceramic 3 coil pups like the Sterling.

They also put the plastic pop-out battery compartment in at some later time.
