It's been a long time coming and I owe my buddy Jim a big thank you, but she's here. This is the real deal and already verified with EBMM. Better photos in a month when I'm done travelling.

Is it unplayed/mint? I read only 16 were ever made. Maybe BP can shed some light on decision behind making these and why so few? It would be interesting to know. I just pulled an old poster out of the closet showing Eddie holding a gold one with a black headstock.... Van Halen Live Right Here Right Now

Whatcha do when your collection gets so big it controls you??? Go on hoarders? I was just curious cause I have way too many guitars and I'm selling quite at bit... Does it get to point of insanity? I remember seeing a pic once of evh's vault and it was nuts plus he just donated something like 80 of his pvs. Sometimes it's just excessive.

JVH please dont judge.

The reason why there were so few is that nobody wanted them...same with gold tops...they were....Yawn....THe publics rejections in the end determines future value

I'm guilty of having too many collectables. I know Brett's a big time collector from what I can tell. I know it weights me down to have a lot of them. Anyways, it was way off topic. I think this a great find and wouldn't pass on it. Congratulations!!!

Its sometimes like that isn't it, at first people don't want it and when it becomes discontinued they fight tooth and nail to get it and drool all over it cause its rare.

Edit:

Very nice guitar by the way, black with maple board will always be cool and classy.

I couldn't agree more. I find it bizarre that originally nobody wanted this finish resulting in low quantities and now it has become such a sought after piece.

I personally think it is beautiful, rare or not. Solid finish on the EVH model looks stunning. Very nice score.

Damn, Brett. Great EVH. I've never seen one with a non-matching headstock. Jim, man, sorry that you had to let it go, but good job keeping it in the family.
